International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts: Authors of forthcoming Fantasy and Science Fiction Medievalisms presenting next week

Dr. Helen Young (University of Sydney) and Professor Donald Riggs (Drexel University) will be presenting next week at the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts.

Scholars of fantasy and science fiction studies attending next week’s International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts, held in Orlando, will not want to miss the sessions of Dr. Helen Young (University of Sydney) and Professor Donald Riggs (Drexel University).  Dr. Young is the editor of the forthcoming book Fantasy and Science Fiction Medievalisms: From Isaac Asimov to A Game of Thrones, of which Professor Riggs is a contributor. Dr. Young’s sessions are “J.R.R. Tolkien” on Friday (March 20) at 8.30-10 a.m. and “Tolkien’s Legacy: Influence of Tolkien on 21st-Century Fantasy” at 2.30-4 p.m. (also on Friday). Professor Riggs’s session “Time and Memory in Science Fiction” is on Thursday at 8.30-10 a.m. Fantasy and Science Fiction Medievalisms is part of the Cambria Studies in Classicism, Orientalism, and Medievalism book series (general editor: Nickolas A. Haydock).
